Online relationships

It seems one of the fastest ways to make money online is by developing the skill of making online “relationships”, or to position yourself as an expert/influencer.

Every so often I see someone without prior product experience coming out of nowhere and after a few months of twitter “networking” or “sharing expertise” he launches something, or partners with someone way ahead of him and gets a lot of clients and recognition for his project.

Sometimes I wished I could believe in that type of skill, but for some people like me (introverts?) it is just not in our nature; I never see the point of following up with people I met online (all relationships seem fake), or to talk as if I was an expert at anyhting, this might “hurt” people like me in the short term but long term it always seemed like the right approach.
